Biography
Legendary cartoon creator with credits for creating Life in
Hell, The Simpsons and Futurama, Matt is a cool guy and not
as many think, a one eyed pirate who shoots anyone who comes
into his office.
Born back yonder on Monday, February 15, 1954 Matt Groening
came from the long lost locatio of Portland, Oregon, USA.
Not being great at school he spent much of his school tool
doodling. This soon developed into a passion for drawing.
This resulted in his mid 1980's move to Los Angeles where
be began drawing his cartoon strip Life in Hell. In 1988,
filler was needed for the Tracy Ullman show and Matt decided
he would try and get his drawings featured.
Not wanting to lose the rights to his classic cartoon, Life
in Hell, he scribbled together a strange family. They would
later become the unrivialed success that is The Simpsons.
He followed this up in 1999, when he unvailed Futurama on
Fox, set in the year 3,000. The show was popular but was unfortunatly
cancelled after 4 series despite conspiracy theories that
there was a firth series.
In terms of a personal life, Matt actually has one. He married
in 1987, becoming husband of Deborah Caplan. They had two
childred but divorsed in 1999.
